About Library

The Library of the college was established in 1971 along with the opening of the college. The Central Library holds rich collection of books, journals, periodicals and online database. The Library is having spacious building well equipped with furniture, book racks, computers, Printers, Internet connection and UPS power back-up. Specious well-ventilated illuminated reading hall with 60 seating capacity. Ample space for stack room and administrative work.

The library is equipped with various efficient and well organised sections; viz. Acquisition Section, Processing Section (Book prossessing, data entry, barcoding, shelving, etc.), Periodical Section, Circulation Section, Reading Section, Internet Section, Reference Section, Stack Room. The library is automated. The library has Web-OPAC to search the bibliographic database. Students and faculty can access N-LIST database having e-books, e-materials in the Digital Library. Remote Access is also provided to the database.

Objectives

1. To provide support to select, acquire, preserve and disseminate relevant and latest information to users.
2. To preserve and conserve the knowledge embedded in the books, periodicals, newspapers and e-resources.
3. To supply the latest information to all specialties in their respective field.
4. To ensure quality information retrieval
5. To provide ICT (Information Communication Technology) service's to all users.

As a Center of intense intellectual inquiry, to ensure the forward looking collections, diverse in breadth and form, open to browsing, and of renowned quality. To provide comprehensive resources and services in support of the research, teaching and learning needs of the user community.

1. Every year Library membership is given to students for one academic year.
2. All teachers appointed are members of the Library.
3. Membership is also given to Non-teaching staff.
4. Associate membership is also given to the staff of other colleges in the campus.

1. For New I-Card
   • All the Students, who have taken admission in the college should take Membership of Library within one month .

Library Rules

Circulation

1. Reference Books, periodicals will not be issued.
2. No student will be entertained unless he/she is having the valid College Identity card/Admission Fee Receipt.
3. Books should be returned within 8 days from the date of issue, failing which fine of Rs.2/per day will be charged.
4. Students are supposed to keep their bags, personal reading material and other belongings outside the Issuing Counter.
5. Students must handle books, periodicals with great care. Any attempt to damage library material will be treated as serious misconduct and strictly dealt with.
6. No library facility will be provided to the defaulters.

Reading Section

1. A Complete silence and strict discipline should be maintained in the library and reading room.
2. Journals, Magazine, Newspaper (Any one issue) will be issued against I Card. The issue must be read in the library and not be taken outside.
3. Mobiles are strictly prohibited.
4. All cases of disregard of these rules will lead to appropriate action.

Stack Room

1. No member will be allowed to take bags or other similar material into the stack room.
2. While inside the libraries and Reading room, no member will be allowed to break the silence by talking or by any action of any kind, including eating food or sleeping on the table.
3. Do not cause damage to any fittings, furniture, books, or other kinds of reading material in the library.

Digital Library Rules

1. Internet/Digital facility is available for all students.
2. Every student will get 1 hour for the use of internet.
3. Playing games, chatting, downloading any pictures, videos, songs, and misuse of the internet is not allowed.
4. Do not save any material on the computer.
5. Printing/Downloading is allowed with prior permission of the Librarian.
6. Printing/Xeroxing will be provided on payment.

• Mobile phones are not allowed on the library campus.
